The Cost of Silence® began with a story — but it quickly became something much larger.
After publishing It’s Okay Not to Be Okay, a book tackling cyberbullying and emotional survival, the movement’s founder followed up with It’s Okay to Struggle, diving deeper into the realities of grooming, peer pressure, and trust breakdowns.
From there, The Cost of Silence® screenplay was born — a dramatized wake-up call based on real-life struggles faced by young people today.
The stories weren’t fiction. They were reflections of lived experience.
What started as personal healing transformed into a collective mission. The Cost of Silence® is now a UK-based movement with one message: you cannot heal what you do not reveal — and silence will never protect you.
We are not a charity seeking sympathy. We are a campaign demanding change.
"We’re not here for fame — we’re here to break the silence, tell the truth, and start again. Because silence ends here."
We’re not celebrities. We’re not perfect. We’re real people who’ve been through it — and came back to make sure no one else has to face it alone. The Cost of Silence® is built by survivors, advocates, and everyday humans with one thing in common: we know what silence feels like. That feeling of being unheard, unseen, or too scared to speak up — we’ve lived it. And now, we’re flipping the script.
This isn’t about putting one face in the spotlight. It’s about lighting up the truth — raw, real, and unfiltered. We’re a grassroots team fueled by passion, pain, and purpose. We’re in schools, on screens, in communities — anywhere silence has tried to hide. We use books, short films, art, talks, and real-life stories to smash the wall that keeps so many young people isolated.
You don’t have to be perfect to belong here. You just have to care — about yourself, about others, and about what happens when we stop looking the other way. If you’ve ever been bullied, manipulated, ignored, or ashamed, we see you. If you’ve ever thought, “I wish someone had stood up for me,” or “I should’ve said something” — this is your second chance.
This movement is for those ready to stop pretending everything’s fine. For those ready to speak up, show up, and break cycles. We don’t care about fame. We care about change. We care about you.
Because staying quiet keeps the pain in. But speaking out? That’s where the healing starts. Welcome to The Cost of Silence® — where silence ends, and real voices rise.
